Zelda is a great example. Although, Zelda has used the same items to mainly the same manner over and over throughout the series lately. So, it begins to get a little mundane. Not only that but some items in Zelda games turn out to be rarely used.

And the fact that every game follows the same scheme like it's some type of contract agreement. It's not a viable platform to me until it expands out of it's narrow playing field.
