Amir Sharar's Blog

Self-proclaimed "creative force that drives this industry", Amir Sharar is a jack of all trades, master of none. A musician, graphic artist, level designer and game designer with no formal training, Amir is most well known for his "fun quantifier" that is able to measure how fun a game is. That said, he is not very well known. A recent University graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a focus on Software Engineering and a Minor in Business Management, Amir's experience in the gaming industry is limited to writing Videogame Reviews for a major Canadian City Newspaper. Despite the lack of experience, he feels that posting on videogame messageboards since the mid-90s qualifies him as an expert on the industry and has given him the necessary know-how to comment on anything videogame related.

Comment In: We're Indie, we like Microsoft. Too Controversial? [Blog - 05/23/2013 - 12:00]

Like any other company MS ...

Like any other company MS has some good and some bad practices that affect consumers and in this case Indie developers. r n r nI 'd argue that they started out strong allowing smaller developers a chance to release console games via XBLA in 2005 8 years ago and XBLIG ...

Unless I 'm misunderstanding, I feel, in some respects, your response mirrors some things said about the iPhone initially. I think there 's a good chance we 'll see something as open as Apple 's Appstore or Google 's Play store. My reasoning is as follows: r n r nFirst off, Microsoft has one already for Windows 8. The foundation is in place for a self-publishing scenario for Indie ...
