Christopher Wragg's Blog

I've been passionate about games for a long time and took said passion a step further and completed a degree in Games Programming down here in Australia. I work on a couple of indy projects from time to time, but for the most part am more interested in a more scholarly approach, simply reading, learning and discussing the deeper aspects of game design, and the affects that clever game design can have on players.

But apart from aggro management something that can be argued about till blue in the face , and it's skill set directly seen stemming from tabletop what other MMO tropes has DA:O used For one it lacks the grind nature of most MMOs and it's heavy emphasis on story and ...

Comment In: Roleplaying Among Mechanical Constructs [Blog - 11/10/2009 - 11:28]

To be honest my biggest ...

To be honest my biggest problem is not the semi static way many characters are dealt with, people often do have very rigid moral view while some are more flexible on the matter. mini spoiler In dragon age for instance Zevran cares not what you do, but Leliana will have ...

Comment In: UK Court Dismisses Convicted Console Modder's Appeal In 'Pivotal' Case [News - 11/11/2009 - 06:48]

@Scott One problem with that ...

@Scott One problem with that mentality Knight, DVD drives, DVD recorders and VCRs are machines that are used for their intended purpose That notion is spawned from the same dangerous mentality that Knight has qualms about. Imagine trying to enforce laws about intended purpose . All of a sudden mechanics ...
