Damon Smith III's Blog

I'm an aspiring producer based out of Maryland, USA and looking to compose for for various games and studios. When I compose, I compose to provoke a story through the music alone. Music should open doors to an awesome yet sometimes terrifyingly unusual world open for the listener to explore and interact with, it shouldn't just be a seperate song in the background that sounds good or complicated through strategically placed tecnique...music should be experienced and take control just long enough for you to forget it's even there. This is the focus of my music and I plan to deliver this as well as encourage it for other composers and musicians with the help of story driven gaming.

Gaming is my first love, I love playing games like: Metal Gear, JSRF, Halo, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Dead Space and many others, all of which are classics not only in the gaming community but the musical community as well. I've always admired the fact that game developers and writers can create their own universe with just imagination and not only show it to the audience but take your hand and walk you through it.

Currently I have been working on instrumental tracks with a more Hip Hop feel but I dont like to limit my music to one genre, you'll definitely find that some of the music i already have are versatile enough to use in many different ways.
