Eric Boosman's Blog

I'm the founder, CEO, and Creative Director of Dark Tonic, an independent game studio filled with passionate, smart, creative developers dedicated to making kick ass games and a culture of good.

We shipped our first game Wall Street Titan on iOS in Oct, 2012, selected by Indie Game Magazine as one of the best mobile action games of 2012.

Dark Tonic also develops pro quality developer tools for Unity 3D.

  • Killer Waves is the ultimate wave spawning system for setting up enemies, effects, creeps, whatever.  Any genre, many uses, super simple setup.  Every game needs to spawn something!  5-star rated.
  • Master Audio is a total audio solution with drag and drop looping, ducking for huge explosions and much more.  5-star rated.

I got my start in the industry as one of the founding members of the SimBin mod team that went on to become SimBin Studios, and was Art Director on GTR, GT Legends, and GTR 2.

After shipping GTR 2, I went to work for Austin, TX based Mock Science as Creative Director, and shipped social MMOs Warstorm, and Planetstorm, and Wii game Tiki Towers.

Racing pulled me back, as I couldn't resist the opportunity to work on the legendary NFS franchise, shipping Need for Speed: SHIFT and SHIFT 2: Unleashed as Creative Director at Slightly Mad Studios.

Industry layoffs meant it was the perfect time to start my own studio, which was a long time goal of mine, so I grabbed a couple of extremely talented friends, and Dark Tonic was born!
