Turn 10’s Game Director, Dana Greenawalt had an in-depth interview with Audizine, where his very own customized Audi S4 was put on display. Some interesting technical details were revealed about Forza Motorsport 3.

The Forza franchise has prided itself on its very hardcore and gear-head knowledge of anything and everything related to cars. Seeing as Forza 3 was released two days ago, there will be a handful of automotive journalists [yup, that's right, they exist] who will want to put the makers of Forza 3 to the test.

Audizine’s  Evan Griffey and Anthony Marino met with Forza 3’s lead developer, Dana Greenawalt.  They decided to  put his recently hi-tuned Audi S4 to the physical challenge as well. Below is a chart showing [on the left] an already pretty gangster stat sheet for a stock Audi S4 and [on the right] Greenawalt’s lighter, powerful Audi.

Parameter Stock S4 Dan’s S4
HP 250 396
Weight (lbs) 3,384 3,296
Lat gs .953 .973
Rating D-294 B-477

Okay, this article is definitely for the tech savvy auto enthusiast, but the interview does cover some of the more technical features of Forza Motorsport 3. For instance, for the causal car buff, you may want to buy a tuning package which will cover what tires go with the right engine for your car.

For the uber-Forza gear-head, you can tune your engine, brake system and cooling all seperately. If your car does not explode at the starting line [because you can't just throw fancy parts under the hood...they may disagree with each other], you can then save your tuned-car as blueprint and upload it for others to download and try out.

Pretty cool, no? Forza has really done a great deal in making its mark in the racing sim genre. People like Dana Greenawalt should be commended for taking racing sim design this far. Now lets hope the game is fun!
