Jeff Lee's Blog   Expert Blogs

The rare and mysterious Jeff Lee has been spotted on the programming teams at WayForward and Zingagi Games, typing furiously and looking altogether unkempt and haggard as he slings together fixed-sized object allocators and fixes other people's compiler warnings for such titles as Contra 4, Sports Champions, and BloodRayne: Betrayal. Oh, and let's also not forget Barbie and the 12 Dancing Princesses--that is the one that impresses the ladies, after all. Jeff appears to subsist exclusively on soup noodles and occasional sunlight, and is a superbly mediocre guitar player. He has very recently transplanted himself into New York City, where he hopes to develop enough knowing cynicism to act properly blasé about the city's greatest attractions and eateries.

My sentiment exactly. I love me some Tim Schafer, but it 's my impression that you can only afford to make the choice he 's describing if you 're already breaking even or better, which is probably only true for a small portion of studios.

Let's not forget about the ...

Let's not forget about the ne plus ultra of 4th-wall extension: the Nintendo DS. As the result of a kind of self-conscious conviction that the DS is an innovative platform, one is frequently invited to shut the console, shout or blow into the mic, or change the orientation of one's ...
