Kheper Crow's Blog

Hi! I'm Kheper a creative vagabond and lapsed gamer drifting through both the real world and the world of game creation. I enjoy creating art, music, and poetry, travel, nature, adventure, and, yes, game development. I'm currently living out in remote western China, dabbling in a couple new ideas :)

I don't think of myself as a gamer or game creator, it's more of a flirtation (and an income source). I have worked in production, design, and programming; usually on a very low level doing the work no one else wants. My main passion is in the possibility of digital interactive art and the expressive potential of the medium.

This blog in an attempt to express my thoughts and experiences on the game industry and ways to expand the scope of what both games and the industry can become. Mainly subjects such as diversity, artistic expression, and new perspectives on how we perceive the medium.

@Benjamin - I 'm gonna go out on a limb and say maybe the media and stories we consume have a direct effect on how an individual sees and understands the world. Many working in the game industry have spent a LOT of time consuming the stories and characterizations in ...

Bah This was a long article full of big words but all that was shared were egos and opinions... r n r nI have heard opinions about games as art from many different people, but I have yet to see one person in the game industry actually talk to someone ...

As a contractor I can say my life is pretty good. I only need to work one year and then can take another year off to do what I please. I actually charge lower rates than I should as I negotiate flexible hours and other benefits, so my normal work ...

I actually found Kamitani 's response pretty good. If you come into a fight and only catch a person throwing the punch of course they 'll be the villain regardless of what led to the punch. That kotaku article was horribly researched troll bait. It 's not the whole 14-year ...

Trust me, I 've tried many different strategies. The best by far is dismissing being a game player and focusing on how it 's pretty easy and fun work that pays well. Or by showing some of my kind of art pieces with the medium : r n r nI ...
