Kriss Daniels's Blog

I am just one of the many talented games industry veterans you have never heard of and never will.

I have worked as both a professional game artist and a professional game programmer across a wide number of platforms. Ranging from programming low level assembler to programming high level game code using more languages than I care to remember. From artistic pixel pushing back when pixels were the size of your fist to creative 3d modelling and animation since computers were no more powerful than your handphone is now.

My skill set is wide.

Recently I have been trying to fully grok social gaming, it's the future don't you know.

Some of my personal work may be found here : http://www.wetgenes.com/

@Stephen Totilo No, stephen. I ...

@Stephen Totilo No, stephen. I would like YOU to pay as much respect to this random developer, whom I found in five minutes via google whilst googling you, as he is forced to respect you due to your socially awarded power and influence. That is what I would like you ...

Comment In: Games, Adolescence and Culture, Oh My! [Blog - 04/07/2009 - 11:59]

The problem is not with ...

The problem is not with the creators, it is with the audience. The more an audience is required in order to create the bigger this problem becomes. True of other media, magnified in games due to increased audience empowerment and the way games can now scale to huge interactive audiences. ...

Comment In: Making Games Art: The Designers' Manifesto [Feature - 03/31/2009 - 06:35]

How to make art. 1 ...

How to make art. 1 : Make art. 2 : Starve. 3 : Die. Games are as good a medium for facilitating this as any other. Art is seldom recognised in the lifetime of the artist as worthwhile, or even art. So I think we are pretty much on track.

Comment In: Intelligent Mistakes: How to Incorporate Stupidity Into Your AI Code [Feature - 03/18/2009 - 05:45]

Yup The AI is not ...

Yup The AI is not playing the game to win. The AI is a granny playing with a spoilt brat who throws a tantrum when it loses. Personally I prefer AI with exploitable weak points, but most gamers are of the spoilt brat variety.

Comment In: What I Learned About Used Games from the Misguided Pizza Guy [Blog - 03/09/2009 - 12:27]

Wait, you really believe that ...

Wait, you really believe that if you take everyone's opinion and add them up then divide by the number you first thought of you get information how strange There is wisdom to be had from crowds and even their opinions but that is not how you distil it.
