I am currently a second year law student at the University of Virginia. At the moment, in addition to a couple game projects I'm working on with friends, I'm working on a paper about the impact of (and threat of) copyright litigation in the games industry. I hope to put my law degree to use with games, because my brief time with law has shown me that you really want to be doing something you enjoy in twenty years. I'll be starting a larger blog soon, but until now, when I have something I think is worth your time, I'll post it here.

I too agree with Jeff. ... I too agree with Jeff. It's not about the numbers per se, it's about the presence of a value and its impact upon a choice. If I were forced to choose between my girlfriend or my family, I would presumably make that choice based upon the value I place on ... |

I don't know Swedish law, ... I don't know Swedish law, but were this tried in the US the judge would absolutely not have to recuse himself from the case. I think you're taking Ian's ... I think you're taking Ian's post a little too personally. He's basically just making a point about the inherent economic motivations for piracy. That said, I'm pretty sure there are economists out there who would not sign off on the you're stupid if you don't pirate proposition. Maybe I'm wrong, ... |

I agree with Adam, and ... I agree with Adam, and to expand on that, it's not just biological. People have different ideas of what they want from a game. Some might not want to have to learn anything, and want a quick one-shot experience. They want to be able to jump into a game and ... |

@Adam: I really, really liked ... @Adam: I really, really liked this article. It's hard to talk about where the content line is, without being too reactionary, or on the other hand, too permissive. I think you hit the nail on the head. The problem though, is that the line will always be subjective. The malaria ... |

There's nothing wrong with releasing ... There's nothing wrong with releasing an adult game free of gore and swearing. There's, if anything, a clear need for them. But to take it out of GTA would be fatal to what the franchise is trying to do. It's attempting to replicate the criminal underworld of Liberty read New ... |
