Matt Cascio's Blog

Hey guys, My name is Matt, as you can see from above. I am 18 years old, a freshman in college, and most importantly, an aspiring Game Designer. I started coming to this website because I love everything video games, and this site covers just about everything. As as far as interests are concerned, well here it goes. First and foremost, I love all things video games, as mentioned above. I love to talk about them, read about them, play them (obviously), and hopefully soon, design them. For about 3 years now I have known this is what I want to do with my life. There are only a few things that rank higher in pleasure for me that sitting down with a new, truly innovative game. There is much to know about me though outside of video games. Despite my love for video games, I actually played full time travel ice hockey for a good portion of my childhood. Hockey is awesome, it's still my favorite sport and thing to do other than play video games. I love all sorts of music, and all sorts of movies. That's about it.

as big a fan of ...

as big a fan of ODST as I am at this point, I am utterly shocked at how Modern Warfare 2 didn't even crack the list. Maybe I'm just interpreting the chart wrong or something, but still a bit shocking for a title that could quite conceivably far outsell ODST.

Comment In: Epic's Sweeney: Games Are 'Factor Of 1000' Off From Graphical Realism [News - 05/26/2009 - 02:58]

I have to agree with ...

I have to agree with Kale on this topic. While I respect, like he said, that from a technological standpoint, it would be amazing to reach realistic graphical perfection , it ultimately leads to a dead end in gaming. The creativity is what birthed this industry, and it's what will ...

What an incredible article on ...

What an incredible article on such an oft talked about, nor understood, topic. Very important to video game design, but not just that, but any piece of artwork through any media. It is strange how certain games do just nail that media harmony you talk about. The dissection of popular ...

Comment In: EA Redwood Shores Studio Now Visceral Games [News - 05/05/2009 - 05:10]

I just want to say ...

I just want to say I believe the name change is a strong decision for EA Redwood Shores, now Visceral. I am one of the 2 -25 , as referenced by Morgan, that does incorporate the brand name into my game buying choices. This by no means suggests that I ...

I'm in on the Psi Ops comment as well. I still remember that game to this day as being a true innovator. I can 2

Hey, just want to say thank you very much to all of you who have given me some advice and more information on the topic at hand. Know that I read each one thoroughly, and respect and value all the stuff you've given me. It is very much appreciated. I'll ...
