New School Blues Dev. Diary #1: Meet "New School Blues"!

We're beyond proud to present "New School Blues" for PC, slated to ship December 14th, 2012.  An iOS version will also be in the works at a later date.  "New School Blues" is a family friendly 2d graphic adventure that hearkens back to the fun and discovery of traditional point and click adventure games like Secret of Monkey Island and Sam and Max.

Each member of YoyoBolo is a fan of the genre so it has been a blast so far designing and developing "New School Blues".  But before we get into the development process, we'd like to tell you a bit more of what the game is about.

In "New School Blues" you are the New Kid, a student who just wants to get through their first day at a new school without too much embarrassment   Along the way you'll run into a couple quirky grade 4 classmates who seem intent on making things difficult for you, and a kind but scatter-brained teacher who is just a tad too preoccupied at times to see it.  You'll need to explore, collect items, combine items, and solve logical puzzles to progress.

All the fun of school with zero homework

But you're not alone... technically.  Guiding you intermittently will be the voice of a narrator.  This along with the subtle and playful score, stylized Saturday morning cartoon visuals and animation, and funny yet heart-warming narrative, all combine to form an engaging experience for the entire family that players will want to relive again and again.

Now that you're acquainted with the game's concept, prepare to dig in to its development!  Our next entry will have a bit more detail on production, specifically how development got started on this project and how gameplay was designed and refined.  Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
