Greetings. I'm Nate Grundy, and I'm a student of Game Development. As of the creation of this profile, I only have a little knowledge of the field - namely, a semester's worth of C++, Photoshop, MySQL, HTML and CSS. I'm currently enrolled in a 3-year game development program at Niagara College in Welland, Ontario, Canada.
For a game dev student, I'm not much of a gamer. I own no consoles or handhelds - not even a cell phone! - and my laptop lags on TF2, so it's not much of an option either. However, I'm quite interested in the subject itself. I'll save my rants on the field for any blogs I choose to post, and we'll leave it at that.
I stumbled upon this website (figuratively, not literally - curse you, stumbleupon) while doing a research project on video game immersion a few months ago. Since then, I've checked back daily to keep informed on the industry's goings-on. I've even set it as my homepage! Gamasutra does a stellar job of reporting the industry news, and I have to admit that I'd be in the dark without it.
That's about all I can think of to say for my introduction. I have a matte painting to finish and a website to code by tomorrow, so I'll just say farewell for now! Hope to see you sometime in the future.
