Raymond Usher's Blog   Expert Blogs

With over 17 years game audio development experience Raymond has sold over 32 million units in over a dozen titles, and was the sole audio programmer of the 2003 BAFTA audio award winning team for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Joining DMA Design as an audio programmer on a full time basis after graduating in 1996 with a BSc. (Hons - First class) in Computer Science, Raymond began work on the audio for amongst other titles, the Grand Theft Auto series, and within two years was promoted to Senior Audio Programmer. Following the renaming of DMA Design to Rockstar North in 2002, Raymond’s final Rockstar project was Grand Theft Auto: Vice City which as well as winning numerous awards, provided DTS with their biggest selling DTS surround sound enabled title, and as a result was invited to speak at The Game Developers Conference 2003 in San Jose, California.

In 2002 he was invited to join Realtime Worlds to establish and lead the audio team that went on to win the 2007 BAFTA ‘Use of Audio’ award for Crackdown.

He is now a member of BAFTA having been invited by the Board of Trustees to apply for membership.
