Rayna Anderson's Blog

Working as a Game Designer in Montreal, currently I'm working on an RPG for the iPhone. I'm an overly active volunteer with the IGDA, you can see me posting news on the Game Design and Women in Games Special Interest Group blogs as well as on the Montreal Chapter blog. I'm also on the advisory board for the Montreal Chapter and the Women in Games SIG. Plus I have my own blog elsewhere on the web. So why not add another one to the list? ;)

Great post There are so ...

Great post There are so many ways that people can tell stories, it took movies a while and an advance in technology to get past the need for words. American cinema can be pretty bad for exposition sill though. Hopefully we can get games to that point sooner than later:

Her speech was the one ...

Her speech was the one I found most inspirational at MIGS. She's a great speaker and after hearing her speak so passionately about game production, I wish I could have a chance to work with her.

Like Jake mentioned, the stereotypes ...

Like Jake mentioned, the stereotypes of the characters in those games would be interesting to know. What about a chart that breaks down the number of games in each category where female characters wear less clothing than the men. What about seeing if games with female characters have more sales

Another great article I can't ...

Another great article I can't wait to see what the next one in the series will be. I really hope developers are taking notes. What I'd like to know more about is the Gaming Grammar section. You never really mention what kinds of structures are implicit that aren't being understood.
