I work at Reflexive as a Game Director making casual games (you know that type of game that the industry loves to rant about).
Of course I'm given to ranting myself, especially in regards to the animal known as the games industry (we'll leave off the word 'dumb' when describing the animal because it only sometimes applies).
I like games. I think that is the core of why I say anything. I play games, I enjoy them, and I care about our industry. I'm also getting older all the time, that's probably a factor as well. I keep looking for games that add meaning to life and am excited whenever the industry or even a developer steps outside of the norm.

| Older people don't play games. Why not? What needs to change so that they do (we'll assume it's not the people who need to change). |

Comment In: What Nintendo's 2011 sales mean for Wii U, third parties [News - 02/09/2012 - 04:35]
|
6 of the top 10 ... 6 of the top 10 titles on Wii in 2011 were 3rd party. That's a big change from previous years. It's always a catch 22 with 3rd parties, they are often thinking twice, which leads to shoddy games, which leads to poor sales, which leads to thinking twice. Something the ... |

Comment In: Sony's Hirai: We could be in 'serious trouble' [News - 02/03/2012 - 10:38]

Perhaps they should step out ... Perhaps they should step out of the console game business entirely. Seriously. Shift business to Android, or just make software for MS Nintendo hardware MS at home, Nintendo for portable . I don't see Sony just doing software though, so perhaps either focusing on Android, or partnering with Nintendo or ... |

Comment In: Looking toward Vita's future by examining PSP's past [News - 01/30/2012 - 02:39]

That's probably intended to be ... That's probably intended to be inflammatory, but I can't understand it. I like and agree with the thought that what you enjoy is what's important, and that whether or not someone else enjoys it isn't important. ...but then you ruin that point by saying that what you don't enjoy is ... |

Comment In: How accurate are Madden's Super Bowl predictions? [News - 01/31/2012 - 04:41]

Good fun and smart marketing. ... Good fun and smart marketing. The predictions made by the game pre-year are the ones I think are the most interesting though... Madden predicted the following division winners for this year: NFC: Packers, Saints, Eagles, and Rams wildcards: Lions Falcons AFC: Steelers, Patriots, Colts, and Chargers wildcards: Jets Ravens Apparently ... |

Comment In: Vita sales flat in Japan as 3DS surge continues [News - 01/11/2012 - 02:43]

I have to assume there ... I have to assume there is a lot of cash involved in the exclusivity. If there isn't there should be. Any platform holder not trying to pay SQ-E and Capcom a ton of cash to get DQ and MH exclusive to their platform should stop making platforms. It's so clear ... |

Was thinking about Tetra as ... Was thinking about Tetra as well, especially in Spirit Tracks where she is by your side throughout. If any game broke and humorously played with the idea of saving a princess you didn't get to see until the end and never got to know it was that one : . ... |
