Russell Carroll's Blog   Expert Blogs

I work at Reflexive as a Game Director making casual games (you know that type of game that the industry loves to rant about). Of course I'm given to ranting myself, especially in regards to the animal known as the games industry (we'll leave off the word 'dumb' when describing the animal because it only sometimes applies). I like games. I think that is the core of why I say anything. I play games, I enjoy them, and I care about our industry. I'm also getting older all the time, that's probably a factor as well. I keep looking for games that add meaning to life and am excited whenever the industry or even a developer steps outside of the norm.

The issue is clearly Nintendo ...

The issue is clearly Nintendo software. r nThe numbers show well why 3rd party isn 't important on Nintendo platforms, they 've had arguably the best 6 months of any Nintendo console ever in terms of 3rd party and it hasn 't helped. r n r nIf you look at ...

Nintendo does, and they get ...

Nintendo does, and they get attacked for it. r n r nIt 's perhaps ironic, that the fans of shooters the video game media, in an attempt to be cool is my best guess will commonly and ruthlessly malign anything Nintendo does. r n r nI say ironic, b/c there ...
