Thibaud de Souza's Blog
Our game studio, Anime 3D SFX, is an exploratory platform welcoming aspiring game makers. So, people come and go, adding their own little touch without much commitment or stress.
One colleague described this process as 'a casual IT business'. Although I can't encourage anybody to tread this uncertain path just yet, I've been trying to break away from several aphorisms that game makers readily take for granted:
"Work hard, play hard".
This is the way to hell; I've been there.
"Bad games are bad forever".
Okay if you make boxed products. Otherwise try to think about games a different way.
Previously worked as a 3D/game platform architect at ECitySky, China.
Educated in the UK.
How would I introduce myself?
My first game and first solo project, Antistar 3D: Rising, was reviewed by iOS mag iFanzine, they later selected it as one of their top 10 games of the year (2010, I believe).
Somewhat revealing is the fact that I not only built this game, but also the tech behind it, from the ground up.
I'm itching to start a blog here to share our success-or-lack-thereof stories. Fools learn from experience so it might be ...interesting.
Anime 3D SFX's third game, Darwin's Nightmare, harnesses the power of evolution to generate a wide variety of evolving, mutating foes.

This is a strategy you can implement aggressively uniformly, on all communications between the scripting platform and the underlying engine by funnelling all writes and batching them to the underlying engine as a single command so, no write occurs until control returns to the engine you can also avoid read ...
