Well by my avatar you can see i don't / can't use default and while circle / square are backwards in the photoshop image you can see how i play. I'm not pro sony as i have my 360 pads re-wired flipping both the d-pad with the face buttons + the l / r analog sticks. In halo,gears,killzone and call of duty the swap the analog sticks but forget that the action buttons and d-pad are still in default mode,i didn't and proceeded to have this glaring oversight fixed myself! I'm currently in school getting a game art and animation degree but what i really want to do is fix all the control schemes that are poorly set up if you use legacy or southpaw. My initial F.P.S contacts were Goldeneye,Perfect Dark and Turok where the c group of buttons were movement and the analog stick was freelook. Going foward we then went backward as all modern dual analog games reversed what came before. Not only was i trained that way but i'm a dominant lefty who is unable to use default and what you've provided as southpaw or legacy i call broken...so i'm out to fix it myself. I already have ,for me,personally but not for those like me who just paid for an unplayable AAA effort that we really wish were playable. alt-controls.com is an example of how frustrated fellow gamers are. When i pay my hard earned money for games i expect to be able to do what so few games manage to do-play how i want to. Resistance 1 /2,the conduit and timesplitters 2-a ps2 launch game no less are the exceptions rather than the rule. People wonder why wii did so well truthfully game pads have been in the same sad rut since the original dualshock was developed-at least wii is ambidextrous out of the box. They even have a wii pad but unfortunately it forgets what you set up whereas the playstation pad doesn't. It even allows 1 set-up per system and after you're done when you turn whichever system on just hit preset and default turns into whatever you want. Really too bad all first party pads don't do this though if there were a custom slot in both my xbl and psn profile that overrides the in game scheme this wouldn't even be necessary..so sad too bad i have to do everything myself,having my 360 pads re-wired,finding workable playstation pads all the while the Guinness making my AAA and original games add the same old scheme we've had since ps one days with almost -0% variance. I'm a hardcore gamer who knos what games are even worth looking at,love games and want to work in games but something i'm also painfully aware of like sound controls get no love perhaps even less than sound and that's saying something.
