Alan Flores has been designing games for over 20 years. He has worked on some of the most popular franchises in video game history including Spider-man, Tony Hawk Pro Skater, and Guitar Hero and was the lead designer on three of the games included in the book 1,001 Video Games You Must Play Before You Die.

In 2011 he founded Gamebot School www.gamebotschool.com an educational provider that teaches kids of all ages how to design and create their own games from the ground up.

During Spring Break of this year (April 14-April 18) my partner (@allenfreese) and I (@AlanGamebot) at Gamebot School (@GamebotSchool) taught 15 students ages 7-14 how to make their own Flappy game. We'd like to share the experience and our students games

Over the last summer Gamebot School (@GamebotSchool) ran our first summer camp. For seven weeks we taught seven different game projects to groups of kids aged eight through fourteen. Here in this blog we share some of our experiences.

Sorry, I should have specified. All of these projects were using GameMaker which was a great choice for this. The drag and drop interface makes it accessible for even the youngest students and makes it easy to get something on the screen quickly. Very important for younger shorter attention spans. ...
