Alessandro Alinone is the co-Founder and CTO of Lightstreamer, a high-performance server for streaming real-time data using Web protocols. He designed the first version of Lightstreamer in 2000 and has led its development through the years. The continuous optimization and tuning of the server has made it possible to reliably reduce latency and bandwidth, while using the HTTP and WebSocket transports. Lightstreamer is currently used by many world-class banks and leading gaming firms, as well as aerospace and defense organizations.

Alessandro, born in Milan (Italy), earned degrees in Computer Engineering at Politecnico di Milano and in General Management at SDA Bocconi. He started his career as a researcher and teacher at Cefriel, an organization building ties between academic and business worlds. Prior to creating Lightstreamer, he developed several financial trading platforms at Sol-Tec.
