The lighting is done with a precalculated lightmap in the Dragon Age engine. Nwn1/2 had dynamic lighting of some kind. Light could change, shadows would move. I really dislike the DA toolset. So I probably shouldn't talk about it much.

I liked Icewind Dale. Its just straight dungeon crawling. Has some awesome boss fights and encounters in general. Make sure you put some points into shooting before the end of bloodlines. There is a crazy amount of combat towards the end.

Should do one on Black Isles, Troika Games, and Obsidian too. You should try Dawn of Heroes for the DS. It isn't perfect but it has some cool classes. It has a lot of what I like about d d.
