Comment In: Three years on, EA decides Online Pass isn't really its thing [News - 05/15/2013 - 08:04]

Ha I knew this program ...

Ha I knew this program was a dead end when it was introduced. I am actually surprised that it survived this long. Good riddance to bad business. I hope their next boondoggle is another spectacular failure.

Comment In: Wii U GamePad reverse-engineered [News - 05/15/2013 - 10:34]

The core concern would be ...

The core concern would be with aftermarket controllers. Nintendo licenses out the rights to make aftermarket controllers and I don 't think they want any aftermarket Gamepads out there. This discovery would make unlicensed aftermarket controllers pretty easy to make.

Comment In: Capcom's Phoenix Wright franchise goes download-only [News - 05/14/2013 - 05:09]

I agree with Ujn. There ...

I agree with Ujn. There are a number of issues with DRM laden digital content. The primary being that as soon as the DRM management company doesn 't want to support it any more, you are out of luck. r n r nChristian, Edge, What are you to do when ...

Comment In: EA (still) won't be paying gun manufacturers [News - 05/08/2013 - 03:57]

Found the lawsuit I was ...

Found the lawsuit I was thinking of. EA is seeking declaratory judgement that its use of Textron helicopters in its video games is not infringement but protected by the 1st amendment. r n r nhttp://www.patentarcade.com/2012/07/new-cases-electronic-arts-inc-v-textron.html r n r nFrom what I can find, this case is not settled yet. But ...

Comment In: Sorry Nintendo, Madden just isn't that into (Wii) U [News - 05/02/2013 - 05:26]

Bob, r n r nIt ...

Bob, r n r nIt was never a big seller on the Wii because it wasn 't the same game as it was on the 360 or PS3. It was a dumbed down half finished version. They probably would have done far better had they kept the PS2/Gamecube engine alive ...

Comment In: The cat memes in Scribblenauts are illegal, claims cat meme duo [News - 05/02/2013 - 11:13]

Yeah, this kind of reminds ...

Yeah, this kind of reminds me of the Fus Ro Dah meme that Zenimax locked down long after its popularity began to wain.

Comment In: Players are tired of the same old, says Nintendo's Iwata [News - 04/30/2013 - 08:06]

Bob, r n r nI ...

Bob, r n r nI completely agree with you there. That is the major failing of many developers when it came to the Wii and now the WiiU. Unfortunately, many publishers don 't want to expend that many resources to a single platform anymore. r n r nHowever, there were ...

Comment In: Game Dev Tycoon fights piracy with piracy [News - 04/29/2013 - 04:39]

Chris, r n r nMy ...

Chris, r n r nMy arguments were on the realities of why piracy is not theft. There is also a legal reason. Piracy, at least the type described in this article, is a civil matter by law and is not legally equivalent to theft. Theft itself has many branches within ...

Comment In: Nintendo offers refurbished handhelds, undercuts GameStop [News - 04/29/2013 - 05:33]

A price war would be ...

A price war would be good for consumers. Such a war would result in higher sell back values for games and lower prices of used games sold. I love it.

Comment In: Latest Wii U update significantly reduces loading times [News - 04/26/2013 - 06:16]

Yeah, it sounds like it ...

Yeah, it sounds like it is a universal overscan fix. I wonder how it works in reality. Based on the description, it could just be a shrink the screen until you can see the whole thing.
