Kheper Crow's Blog

Hi! I'm Kheper a creative vagabond and lapsed gamer drifting through both the real world and the world of game creation. I enjoy creating art, music, and poetry, travel, nature, adventure, and, yes, game development. I'm currently living out in remote western China, dabbling in a couple new ideas :)

I don't think of myself as a gamer or game creator, it's more of a flirtation (and an income source). I have worked in production, design, and programming; usually on a very low level doing the work no one else wants. My main passion is in the possibility of digital interactive art and the expressive potential of the medium.

This blog in an attempt to express my thoughts and experiences on the game industry and ways to expand the scope of what both games and the industry can become. Mainly subjects such as diversity, artistic expression, and new perspectives on how we perceive the medium.

While I think the future ...

While I think the future is definitely in interactive emotional type experiences, I don 't think Quantic Dreams approach is really the best solution to that future. It 's like a niche of a niche. There will be a huge future in interactive movies at some point, but not so ...

Another victory for the internet ...

Another victory for the internet trolls I 'm really confused why everyone is so excited about a new generation of game consoles that is nearly identical to the last. I think MS went a little overboard, but at least they had some kind of vision for the future of gaming. ...

Thank you for saying this ...

Thank you for saying this While some indie games have really original ideas, most are just treading water like the AAA industry. Indies are just better at visiting past watering holes. When in doubt, finding a mechanic Nintendo casually throws into a game, take it and run with it and ...

I 'm gonna risk the ...

I 'm gonna risk the unpopular opinion, this seems like trying to light a fire with wet matches. A lot of anger of some pretty petty incidents which, if done too much, will actually cause more damage to the industry than help it. The day I have to worry about ...

@Dean r nBut how many of those princes in distress are powerless, incompetent, utterly dependent on their female counterpart I don 't know those examples, but they all seem quite independently capable. One of the main problems with damsel in distress is that it portrays woman as frail little things ...
