Skyrim and Mirror 's Edge ...

Skyrim and Mirror 's Edge both have mods for it, designed by gamers rather than companies. The modder who made the Skyrim version is also working on a Fallout version.

Comment In: DirectX9: Has this been holding back PC strategy game innovation? [News - 04/11/2013 - 09:55]

Civ5 has DX10 doesn 't ...

Civ5 has DX10 doesn 't it I can 't think of anything significant that would change with DX9. Considering the vast majority of strategy games are isometric I think the value of DX10/11 is overstated here.

Comment In: The LucasArts you knew is no more [News - 04/03/2013 - 01:42]

1313 's been in development ...

1313 's been in development for a while, they 'll probably license it off to someone else. Maybe that studio can hire some of these people that Disney cast aside like a masticated Pluto toy.

Right but my point is ...

Right but my point is that I don 't think OpenCL code executes fast enough to tessellate thousands of tiles within a rendering pipeline. It 's not a matter of how quick the GPU processes the information once it 's got it, it 's that CUDA in C operates at ...

I think you inadvertently hit ...

I think you inadvertently hit a key point there Josh. Gabe clearly has too much faith in humanity. Maybe I 'm misunderstanding the concept here but people generally gravitate to what they know, most people on Steam know AAA titles and only venture into indie games because Steam puts them ...

Comment In: Players won't pay just because they like your game [News - 11/13/2012 - 10:08]

I 've played several MMOs ...

I 've played several MMOs during their transition from subscription to free to play, I no longer play any of them. It 's like going on your favourite website and suddenly seeing it filled with adverts for smiley 's. In fact my kin from LOTRO went from 250 active members ...

Comment In: Opinion: When developers speak up, the industry matures [News - 09/12/2012 - 05:46]

Critical analysis is far more ...

Critical analysis is far more effective when it comes from other developers rather than reviewers I think, however the competition of rival titles has created an animosity that 's not really based on anything. r n r nMaybe it 's just trolling, I don 't know but I think the ...

Comment In: Can Ubisoft shed its DRM bad guy image? [News - 09/05/2012 - 03:03]

I had the exact same ...

I had the exact same feeling when Gabe Newell went to the Sony E3 conference to announce Portal 2 on PS3 and started talking about gamers wanting a 'complete social experience '. That 's fine if it 's an optional thing like Portal 2 is but then you get games ...

Comment In: Better level design via line of sight [News - 09/04/2012 - 11:07]

So how come Dead Space ...

So how come Dead Space 's brown corridors are so piss easy Probably because there are no tactics involved.

Comment In: The key to Dead Island's success? It wasn't that trailer [News - 08/13/2012 - 11:27]

What 's with the ram ...
