Using the Gamasutra Exchange, game developers can easily buy and sell art assets in a secure online market. It's free! Download it here. What's The Gamasutra Exchange?
The Gamasutra Exchange is a free, downloadable application that lets game developers buy and sell digital assets via an online market. If you've ever wished that there was an easy way to easily locate and inexpensively purchase textures, 3D models, shaders and other game art assets, or you wished there was an easy way to make money off of your existing models and artwork, try the Gamasutra Exchange. The Gamasutra Exchange uses an extensive database of over 80,000 assets (and growing every day) to catalog all types of files. You can search for a particular type of asset (for instance, "reptile eye" or "motorcycle model"), review ones you're interested in, and immediately purchase and download them to your workstation. Likewise, if you have assets of your own that you'd like to sell, you can upload your content, name your price, and we'll keep track of your sales and present you with a sales report and a check based on your sales. Powered
by Turbo Squid technology, Gamasutra Exchange also offers sales on the
entire database of assets from time to time, so you can get mark downs
on items you purchase. On top of that, there are no subscription fees,
and many assets can be downloaded free. How To Purchase Assets It's easy to purchase 3D models, textures, and more with Gamasutra Exchange. 1. Use Gamasutra Exchange to search the online database, using keywords. A results page lists all of the assets that match your criteria. 2. Select and sort the files that you want. Gamasutra Exchange displays file information and shows multiple preview images. 3. Select the items you want. You can immediately download free files. Priced assets are moved to a shopping cart for final approval. Enter credit card info to download and begin using your new assets. How To Sell Assets It's a piece of cake to upload and sell your assets. 1. Use Gamasutra Exchange to select, upload, and publish files from your computer. 2. Describe your assets, assign search terms to let others easily find them, attach thumbnails, and set your price. Immediately, your assets are available to users worldwide. 3. Sales data is presented to you so that you can track and analyze how your various assets are doing. We host your assets, market them, process purchase transactions, and pay you royalties. Uploading and listing your work on Gamasutra Exchange is free. We get nothing until your work sells. After the sale, we split the revenue with you, 50-50. And whenever we offer a sale on items through the Gamasutra Exchange, those discounts are not taken off of your revenues -- we absorb the decrease in revenue entirely. Your hosting agreement with the Gamasutra Exchange is non-exclusive. At any point you can take your assets offline or modify them as you see fit. We protect your copyrights -- without your intellectual property, we can't succeed. If you have any questions about how the Gamasutra Exchange works, let us know at editors@gamasutra.com. Copyright Policy Gamasutra Exchange was built from the ground up as a way to create an easy, fun, and viable marketplace for digital media files. It's not a peer-to-peer network which allows users to anonymously trade other people's work, or a web site that attracts viewers by enabling trafficking in pirated material. Gamasutra Exchange creates the market where copyright holders of digital media can use software based distribution similar to the peer to peer model and profit from it. Because our marketplace is based on the remuneration of copyright holders, we respect all copyright laws in the United States and internationally. Members submitting content to Gamasutra Exchange have warranted that they are the copyright holders, or authorized agents of the copyright holders, for all content submitted. Any violation of this warranty will not be tolerated by Gamasutra, and will result in the permanent expulsion of the person who submitted the work.
