Sets

Sets

These two settings are from the videogame Omikron: The Nomad Soul which is coming out this fall. Since they are real-time settings, they each contain less than 500 polygons. For these images, I worked in 3D Studio MAX 2.5 and PhotoShop 4.2. The corridor is a jail corridor, and my inspiration come from the Judge Dredd Artbook. For the texture, I used a render module I made. I did this in the same way that I make a full polygon setting, but working only on a small wall. Then I set lights and I use the rendered image as a real-time texture. I can do this because I work quite fast, but the best way is probably to draw them from nothing (when you are a good drawer of course). There is no bump on these textures; the bump or light effects are given from the full polygonal renders. For the cave, I used the same things, and my inspiration was the anime Tygra and the movie Conan the Destroyer.
