DSA Arena (Das Schwarze Auge)
The tune was made completely done on a PC with Cubase SX
and Halion, no hardware samplers or synthesizers used.
Being a commissioned work for a mobile game trailer, Elkware
wanted something similar to Pirates of the Caribbean. [MP3]
Coming back to Town
The tune was made completely done on a PC with Cubase SX
and Halion, no hardware samplers or synthesizers used.
I imagined a cowboy riding back to his town after a long time,
but the place is now merely a creepy ghost town. He gets off his horse and
carefully sneaks through the town, with his drawn gun, expecting enemies
behind every corner. [MP3]
Horror
The tune was made completely done on a PC with Cubase VST
and Gigastudio 96, no hardware samplers or synthesizers used.
Horror ambience, a mentally deranged man has gruesome and
morbid visions, I tried to describe that musically. [MP3]
Unintentional Descention
The strings were performed by the Prague Symphony
Orchestra, the woodwinds and brasses were performed by players of the New York
Philharmonic, percussion is partly live, partly sample libraries and coming
from a Roland XV5080 synthesizer.
Selina, Gallahadt and the dragon Madostror'Skar, being certain
about having won their previous fight, are on their way home, Gallahadt and
Selina flying through the skies on the back of the dragon, when suddenly a
huge thunderstorm swallows them and sweeps off their plans for good. It is
more than a freak of nature, as will soon become clear - and so the group is
forced to enter a new episode, which can only to be passed by working hand
in hand. [MP3]
Epic
The tune was made completely done on a PC with Cubase VST
and Gigastudio 96, no hardware samplers or synthesizers used.
Imagine a vast landscape, you're standing on a cliff and survey
the lush forest below. It's early morning, the sun is rising slowly from the
horizon, a new day begins. [MP3]
Chicago 1930 intro cutscene
The whole tune was done in Cubase SX and a Roland XV5080
synthesizer, the saxophone was recorded live.
Imagine a gangster scene, two guys standing on a street at
night, under the lights of a street lamp. One of them drops a cigarette and
steps on it. Suddenly a car approaches, the two men draw their weapons
and... [MP3]

| Bio: |
|
Fabian Del Priore is a composer, arranger and sound designer. He has dedicated his life to the world of music, he started composing on the Commodore C64 home computer, collected synthesizers since he was very young and took private piano lessons for over ten years.
But it was not before the age of 16 until his career as a professional game musician started; After sending a demo tape to Chris Huelsbeck's company, SynSoniq Records, Fabian subsequently became a freelancing composer, arranger and sound designer at Chris' company for many different computer- and video games.
He is the main composer of the famous Merregnon fantasy CD trilogy project.
Furthermore, Fabian was musically involved in the renowned and always sold
out GC Games Convention opening concerts 2003 - 2005 in the Gewandhaus,
Leipzig, Germany, which are the first symphonic game music concerts outside
of Japan. A couple of his compositions and numerous arrangements by him were
performed live at the concerts by the Prague Symphony Orchestra and the
Czech National Symphony Orchestra.

Why
I Got into the Industry:
|
|
The reason is the love to compose, to be in a world where creativity is everything. The moment I started making music for my very first game projects, I knew life won't be the same anymore and there would be no turning back. From this moment on, I'm in the business - and will be there for a long time.

Tools
I Can't Live Without:
|
| I use Cubase SX as my main sequencer with lots of software samplers and synthesizers, but also hardware synthesizers of Roland, Korg, Yamaha, and Kurzweil. But no tool can replace the emotional impact that music itself can deliver, so a good composition still is the most important musical "tool" for me. |
| Favorite
Game Audio: |
| Hard to tell since there are so many great games out there! Besides Super Mario, I would say the Zelda games. No other game series has impressed me more in terms of game play, story, ideas, graphics, and of course, the genius soundtrack by Koji Kondo, who is also responsible for the Mario music.
|
| Inspiration: |
| I think it's the positive aspects of life itself, like good weather, nature, imaginations of mountains, the see, a lush forest, landscapes etc., nice people, and friends/girlfriends. |
| Music I Listen To While Working: |
| Lots of different music. I'm always into music by Kraftwerk, Vangelis, Paul Hardcastle, Enigma, Jarre, The Orb, but also film composers like John Williams, Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard, Randy Edelman, Mark Isham, and lots of others. |
| Favorite Book: |
| Not a specific one, but I really like Michael Crichton as an author. |
| Favorite Movie: |
| The Matrix. |
