Strike and Retrieve
Main Title, Navy Training Exercise, Official Game of the US Navy - www.navy.com, I used Logic for sequencing and various Roland and Giga samples. I was inspired by heroism, the new technology of our military and the feeling of victory. I co-composed this piece with Daniel Sadowski. [MP3]

Trophy Room
Hunting Unlimited 3, I used Logic for
sequencing, Yamaha Guitars and giga drums. The inspiration for this was rock and roll.

Bio:

Joshua Mosley is a composer & producer for film, television, video games, and recording artists, who has collaborated with such names as two-time Emmy winner Hummie Mann (Year of the Comet, Robin Hood Men in Tights), up-and-coming director Paul Gordon (Teen People Magazine's "20 Teens Who will Change The World"), the UPN network, and Hip Games. His video game work includes U.S. Navy promotional game Strike and Retrieve, and titles in Valusoft's Hunting Unlimited series.

Joshua was born on May 18th, 1980 in Tarzana, California, and comes from a distinguished background of musicians. His grandfather, Robert Douglass, was a professional bassist and arranger who played with such A-list stars as Tony Bennet, Lou Armstrong, and Peggy Lee. His band, the Chuck Miller trio signed to Capitol Records in the '50s and had a hit single "The House of Blue Lights." His mother, Cynthia Mosley, was a professional singer and is now a vocal coach.

Mosley began to compose songs at the age of 18, and In October 2000, Joshua started his professional career with Soundrama. In 2001, Joshua went on to study under film composer Hummie Mann at the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program. There he increased his skills in writing, theory, film scoring, and knowledge of the industry. In turn, this lead to a professional and personal relationship with Hummie; working as an arranger under Mann's music supervision on two television projects.

Joshua was picked up in 2003 for representation in video game composing by Bob Rice; Joshua is proud to be apart of Rice's roster. In December 2004, Joshua ventured out from Soundrama and founded Selah Productions LLC, where he has gone on to score many more projects as well as producing albums. Joshua currently lives in Puyallup, Washington. He is married to Reanne Mosley and has a daughter, Madison Rose.

Why I Got into the Industry:

Growing up, I always loved the musical score in the Final Fantasy games. I thought that it would be awesome to do music for video games.

Tools I Can't Live Without:

Logic: The sequencing is amazing.
My Mac: It runs my programs almost perfectly.
Favorite Game Audio:
The Gran Turismo series. I love cars, and I love racing.
Inspiration:
First and foremost, my inspiration comes from God. Also, my family. I am inspired the way music makes the listener feel, as well as composers such as James Newton Howard, Hummie Mann, and Danny Elfman. And just the love of music.
Music I Listen To While Working:
I listen to everything from film scores to hip hop.
Favorite Book:
Jurassic Park
Favorite Movie:
Face Off
