Bio:

Thomas "Tomzen" Dietl is probably best known for his creative sound design work on several productions. He´s currently working on Hitman: Blood Money after finishing his work on Hitman: Contracts.

Tomzen was born into the world of sound and music through his father (a well-known Scandinavian composer) who dragged him around studios/sessions and filmsets. His career started as a drummer working with different progressive groups such as U.R.D on Virgin Records Denmark.

Today he´s out on CD and vinyl on several labels With his own (and others) music. In 2002, he composed the score for a big Danish movie called Anja Efter Victor. Tomzen is currently signed on for Music for Dreams (Denmark) as a producer. He has done sound design and music for a number of commercial movies, happenings, shows, theatre. Tomzen has also worked on several Feature Films and Ducomentry behind the mixer.

Why I Got into the Industry:

I was headhunted after showing interest.

Tools I Can't Live Without:

Pro Tools, Trident, Acid, and old crappy hardware gives me the freedom I need.
Favorite Game Audio:
Half-Life 2
Inspiration:

I think it's very important to "stay in movement," to check out different societies and social layers, and different people. One of the most important issues working with sound is to explore life, and at the same time, to educate and develop yourself with your skills and tools and the people who surround you. This is a dificult balance because it takes a lot from a person who is focused on: development, life, improvement... not to mension my wife (Sanna), my son (Marco), and work.

Greetings to: my father (Fuzzy), mother, my brother (Christian, my two mentors: Ole Theill (Drum-Teacher) and Jan Juhler (Sound Director), and my friends.

Music I Listen To While Working:
All kinds.
Favorite Book:
The Way to Jerusalem by Jan Gilliou
Favorite Movie:
Alien (Among many)
