Bio:

Tyson Busch is an aspiring level designer from Edmonton Alberta, currently attending the Video Game Design and Development course at the International Academy of Design and Technology in Toronto, Ontario.

Taking a huge risk by moving himself and his family across the country to pursue his dreams, Tyson hopes that his education at the Academy will help land him a job in the industry.

Inspiration:

My artistic inspiration comes from other level designers, I love just wandering aimlessly through game worlds, looking at textures, design and other features, and contemplating how they could be re-created, and what the authors' intent was behind everything.

Why I Want to Get into the Industry:

My 2 passions in life have always been Hockey and Video Games, so naturally my dream is to some day work for a company creating an NHL hockey game for any platform.

Favorite Game Audio/Art:

My favorite game of all time is Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox, I am extremely competitive, and love the challenge this game brings to the table. I also really admire just about all of Tomonobu Itagaki's and Team Ninja's work.

Tools I Can't Live Without:

So long as my brain is functional, I am content to be using any tools that are at my disposal because I like to keep myself challenged with new avenues of creation.

Music I Listen to While Working:

I usually find my self listening to hip-hop/R&B artists like John Legend, Common, Kanye West, Talib Kweli etc. I admire how these artists are creative and don't fall into the 90% of the hip-hop garbage that is on the radio these days (i.e. G-Unit).

Favorite Book:

Currently Angels and Demons by Dan Brown.

Favorite Movie:

Best movie of all time...... Happy Gilmore.

Current Project:

Currently I am working with a small team creating a 2-on-2 street hockey game using the Ogre Engine. I am in charge of game/level design and the interface. The project is about halfway done, and I have included a few screenshots of the first rink.
