Due to cutbacks/layoffs from my full-time job, I am now freelancing until
another great full-time opportunity comes along.

My current work load consists of game art assets, mobile game art, commissioned paintings, sign painting, illustration, user interface work, set design... you name it!

  • Bio:

Julie Bossinger has been in the game industry for 5 years, but has been creating art for as long as she can remember. She went to art school for 4 years and has taken additional classes here and there for personal edification. Her other passions include music, animals, books and movies.

    Inspiration:

I grab my inspiration from what I see around me or whatever just happens to pop in my head. Some of my favorite artists include Liz McGrath, Todd Schorr, Joe Coleman and Todd Kennedy.

    Favorite Game Art:

I think San Andreas looks beautiful!

Why I Got into the Industry:

I had been doing graphics and traditional art on my own and liked the video game industry vibe, as it is rather laid back, fun and creative.

    Tools I Can't Live Without:

Foremost a pencil and eraser. I couldn't live without Photoshop. I seem to use it in so many aspects of my art. It is a must for textures, but I also use it when creating more traditional art. When I get stuck on a color scheme for a painting, a lot of times I will scan what I have in progress and play with different colors and designs in Photoshop to get a better idea of which direction to take it.

Music I Listen to While Working:
WSwingin' Utters, Pogues, Clash, Ramones, Tom Waits, and Screamin' Jay
    Favorite Book:

That's hard. I love Salinger and Joe Lansdale.

    Favorite Movie:

You Can't Take It With You.
