| Bio:

Laura
Schumacher was born in Seattle 24 years ago, and spent
the first ten of those years living in the suburbs
and summering in Yakutat, Alaska with her family.
Some
of Laura's earliest memories involve her sister's
ColecoVision, which she played (or tried to anyway)
before she could walk. Laura has always known that
she wanted to work in games, especially console games.
In middle school and early high school, she was dubbed
the 'Nintendo Queen' and friends would call her up
for help when they were stuck in any Mario Bros.
game.
Nowadays,
she's still in the same suburbs she grew up in, creating
games and having a blast doing it.

| Inspiration:
|
|
I
get inspired by all sorts of things - a fascinating
book, a strange character I meet in passing, something
beautiful in nature. Most of what I create comes from
random unfocused doodling, which is my favorite way
to generate ideas.

Game Art: |

That's
easy - Final Fantasy. In fact, everything by
Square just blows me away.
|
| Why
I Got into the Industry: |
|
I'm
a Nintendophile from way back... well, actually it
all started with my older sister's ColecoVision. Picked
it up as soon as I could wrap my fingers around a
joystick and I've been hooked ever since.

| Tools
I Can't Live Without: |
|
I
love my Wacom tablet, and I'm addicted to Photoshop.
|
| Music
I Listen to While Working: |
| Ministry,
Linkin Park, Moby, Nine Inch Nails, Lords of Acid, and
way too many '80s tunes to list. |
| Favorite
Book: |
|
It's
a toss-up between 1984, Brave New World,
and Animal Farm. I'm a sucker for anything
concerning apocalyptic situations, dystopian societies,
or really, really big disasters.
|
| Favorite
Movie: |
|
That's
a tough one - I've watched American Psycho
more times than I can count, but recently I'm most
fond of The Secretary and Eternal Sunshine
of the Spotless Mind.
