Worldweaver Releases DX Studio 2.3

Software developer Worldweaver has unveiled the latest version of its games and simulation platform DX studio, with new features including PhysX support and more performance enhancements.

The DX Studio update will also include depth of field, simple user control creation, scrolling listboxes, full tweening on all object properties, DXT support, and a spherical map importer. Version 2.3 will also enjoy a number of performance and memory usage optimizations.

DX Studio 2.3's release marks the debut of demo game Hut of the Dead. DX Studio users are invited to play the game for free and use its scripts for their own projects. Worldweaver is also hosting a competition for the best Hut of the Dead game play modification.

“We’ve done a lot of work embedding the PhysX engine into DX Studio but the benefits of using PhysX should really help users looking to create particular gaming environments, especially given the recent announcement of Nvidia’s acquisition of Ageia and that they will soon introduce PhysX physics processing support into all GeForce 8-series graphics cards through a simple software download," said CEO and founder Chris Sterling.
