Although last week it was FIFA 10's day to lead the UK charts, Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 10 took the top spot this week, coming in at number one on the all-platform charts and displacing its rival to the third spot.

Chart-track said, however, that PES 2010 didn't launch quite as strongly as FIFA, selling 39 percent less in its first week across PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC -- although it leads the single-format charts for PS3.

"In fact," Chart-track wrote, "PS3 appears to be more and more the format of choice for PES, with 66 percent selling on PS3, 32 percent on Xbox 360 and 2 percent on PC (compared to 57 percent PS3, 40 percent Xbox 360 and 3 percent PC in launch week last year.)"

The debut of Forza Motorsport 3 came in at number 2, creating a trio of sports titles for the top of the charts -- and in fourth, more sporting events, with Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games advancing one place to fourth, beating the fifth-place UK debut of WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010.

All-Platforms Top 10

1. Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 (Konami)
2. Forza Motorsport 3 (Microsoft)

9. Need for Speed Shift (EA)
10.Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (Codemasters)

Individual Plaforms

The individual platforms front was quite a different picture, however. Xbox 360 exclusive Forza 3 won out over PES, whose PS3 SKU came in second, far ahead of FIFA 10's Xbox 360 and PS3 SKUs which were in seventh and ninth, respectively after last week in second and third place respectively.

Professor Layton and Pandora's Box saw a big plummet out of the top 10 after charting in 7th last week, Halo 3: ODST fell to 15th all the way from 8th, and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising Xbox 360 also took a major slump from fifth last week all the way to 19th.
