Dynamic Digital Depth Brings 2D-to-3D technology to QuickTime

Dynamic Digital Depth announced that it is bringing the power of its stereo 3D content conversion and delivery technologies to QuickTime users. Dynamic Digital Depth is showcasing its 3D technology for mainstream entertainment on a new Web site called, appropriately enough, DDD.

The DDD Web site is designed to enable efficient, cost-effective creation and delivery of 3D content via any visual medium -- film, TV, Internet, CD or DVD. DDD's technologies enable creation and development of 2D compatible 3D content; mass distribution through the Internet, personal computer, television and movies and integration of 3D content with glasses free arcade game display.

The 2D-to-3D capabilities are available to QuickTime users via a downloadable plug-in, that can be gotten at Apples web site, or by trying to access DDD-savvy content via QuickTime. The plug-in lets QuickTime decode the additional info in such content, but you'll need a pair of the latest generation of 3D glasses to enjoy it. If you've got the plug-in and the glasses, you can cruise on over to the DDD Web site and check out some 3D movie animations.

To speed consumer access to the visual "wow" of stereo 3D, DDD introduces the OpticBOOM brand, a new brand for its patented technologies. The OpticBOOM technologies (formerly DeepSee) provides solutions to convert 2D material to stereo 3D and transmit 2D compatible 3D content via Internet, TV, CD and DVD.

The OpticBOOM 3D Plug-in is a free download that works with QuickTime to deliver 3D content from film trailers, music videos and live events. The OpticBOOM Plug-in requires free OpticBOOM Eyeware, available on the website on October 14th.
