Marlin Studios Releases Great Textures of Europe

Marlin Studios is publishing a new CDROM of textures, adding to its extensive offerings of graphic libraries and images. The new release, Seamless Textures 7 - Great Textures of Europe, is a two CD-ROM set, created by texture artist Geoff Holman. The product is the 10th in a series of photorealistic texture libraries created for use by 2D and 3D graphics artists, and Holman's fourth texture library.

Holman took an extended trip throughout Europe, resulting in a library of over 800 seamlessly tileable textures. The typical textures in this royalty-free library include building walls, windows, entryways, doors, surfaces and a unique collection of textures containing transparency. These transparency textures, sometimes called "clip maps," contain everything from a lion's head doorknocker to old-world fountains.

Seamless Textures 7 - Great Textures of Europe features 815 textures and an equal number of bump maps (elevation maps), all presented in three resolutions: Large (app. 1600x1200), Medium, (66% of Large) and Small (33% of Large). The transparency textures area presented in both 32-bit Targa and JPG format. All other textures and 242 professional photos taken during Holman's trip, all suitable and large enough for stock image applications and 3D backgrounds, are stored in JPG format. The texture library also includes a highly detailed, royalty-free Viewpoint Digital 3D mesh of a European Mission, which normally retails for $595.

The Marlin Studios Seamless Textures 7 - Great Textures of Europe two CD-ROM set sells for $179.
