Curious Labs Ships Poser 4.0.3

Curious Labs announced it has begun shipping Poser v 4.0.3, the 3D-character animation and design tool that they recently acquired from MetaCreations. Designed to aid graphic artists and modelers in creating lifelike models of differing body types and movement, Poser was spun off from MetaCreations into the hands of Poser's creator, Larry Weinberg, CEO of Curious Labs.

Poser 4.0.3 retails for $219.00, with free upgrades available as a free download for current Poser 4 customers. Owners of earlier versions of Poser (formerly Fractal Design and MetaCreations) can upgrade to Poser 4.0.3 for $99.00.

Curious Labs also plans to ship their Poser Pro Pack in Q4 2000 for $149.00, offering key enhancements, file export capabilities and plug-ins for Poser 4 customers. With export of web deployable animations using MetaStream 3 for 3D and Macromedia FLASH for 2D, the Poser Pro Pack will enable web developers and digital artists to add Poser 4's 3D character content to web sites and other interactive projects. The Pro Pack will also provide improved Poser scene file integration into discreet Inc's 3D Studio MAX and Newtek's Lightwave using native plugins, as well as introduce a Python scripting environment to Poser.
