Gatorhole Offers a New Version of its GameCom Network Library

Gatorhole, a Swedish game production company, is offering a new beta version of its GameCom Win32 library. This library is geared towards developers, containing network communication functions that facilitate the network-enablement of games and other applications.

Gatorhole says that GameCom will allow developers to alleviate problems with buffering data, transmitting data at the right time, and making sure the data arrives at its destination. GameCom utilizes UDP for all its communications and lets the user perform reliable delivery of data, fragmentation and reassembly of large data items, prioritization of different types of information, and multiplexing several data streams on a single connection.

GameCom 0.9x beta is freeware, and available for download on Gatorhole's website.
