Infogrames
SA Results
Things are looking up at Infogrames Entertainment SA. The company is reporting
consolidated first quarter revenues of $75 million, an 80 percent increase
from revenues of $41.7 million in the same period last year. More than
50 percent of Infogrames' revenues, $38.3 million for the quarter, are
attributed to the company's American divisions Infogrames Inc. and Infogrames
North America.
Achievement
Nominations
The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences is looking for nominations
for its 2001 awards. The annual awards program, set for March, adds new
categories honoring innovation in console and computer gaming as well
as for massively multiplayer games. Games released between March 1 and
December 31, 2000 are eligible for awards. Nominations must be received
by January 5, 2001. Nomination packets are available at the Academy's
website.

Infogrames
Gets Square
MCV is reporting that Infogrames has landed a distribution deal with Square.
The company beat out several other competitors to claim exclusive European
distribution right for Square titles. Square's European distribution was
previously handled by Crave. The first game under the new deal is expected
to be Final Fantasy IX for Playstation.
