Interesting article, even to a Korean local
It was an interesting read, even for a Korean local like myself. Sometimes, it is nice to have an external perspective of what's taken for granted here.

It would have been more interesting if you had written about the prices some rare items command in ItemMania. An avid local gamer myself, I don't even understand how an MMORPG item (like a rare sword) could be commanding black market price tags of thousands of US dollars.

Also, item sweatshops exist in China, where they set up a small Internet Cafe and hire cheap laborers dedicated to playing games. Virtual items acquired by this means are sold to Koreans for profit.

Well, I'm not so current in industry news and I hear the item prices are lower these days, but it would still have been interesting to read how some gamers make their living selling virtual game items.
