3G Studio President Markham Departs

Developer 3G Studios (SWAT:Target Liberty) has announced that former Gray Matter founder and Return to Castle Wolfenstein producer Drew Markham has left his position as 3G president.

In addition to his role behind Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Redneck Rampage, Markham had formerly served as chief creative officer for Vivendi-Universal, where he oversaw "the creative direction of the studio, strategic relationships, and next generation initiatives."

3G notes that the position currently remains open. The studio says it is working on a yet unannounced game for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC with a "major publishing partner," and is in the midst of opening a new Wii-exclusive studio.

Said 3G CEO James Kosta, “Mr. Markham had a history of creating best-selling franchises, and we had faith in his ability to create original properties and form new strategic partnerships. However, after 8 months we have found that a productive and creative relationship is unachievable. We’re saddened to announce the Board’s decision to end the relationship.”
