PipelineFX has announced that it will be showcasing the latest version of Qubic, a simple to use graphical user interace to the Qube render farm management system that allows artists and administrators to easily manage their rendering and game build jobs, at SIGGRAPH 06.

New features found in version 6 include a scriptable, extensible GUI, cleaner, more efficient task-based layouts tuned for artists and administrators, graphical displays for job processing analysis and farm-at-a-glance status, and improved logging display for output and debugging information.

PipelineFX will be showing the latest versions of its software at the event, including Qube!, which will also be featured with multiple industry partners throughout the exhibition. In addition, PipelineFX will be in the D2 Software booth as part of D2 Software’s complete workflow pipeline presentation. Qube! will be one of the applications that is featured in the high-end compositing NUKE workflow showcased at the booth.

PipelineFX will also be in the Autodesk Media and Entertainment booth to demonstrate Qube!’s abilities as the management platform for Autodesk 3ds Max and Autodesk Maya 3D animation software. Finally, the company will be on hand at the IBM booth throughout the exhibition to show the latest features of Qube!.

In addition, PipelineFX and SGI will be showing the companies' new one-stop render management solution, which combines SGI’s new Altix XE servers with PipelineFX’s Qube!. SGI Altix XE servers are based on the new Intel Xeon dual-core processors and SGI Infinite Storage NAS technology. The new Render Management Solution will be beneficial to a range of markets including animation, special effects, game development, bioinformatics, and engineering. Combining SGI’s new Altix XE servers with Qube! provides a pre-configured “farm in a box, plug and play” for the end user. This package can cut work turnaround time drastically and better manage resources, enabling artists to focus more attention on creative content creation.

The Siggraph 2006 Computer Animation Festival will take place from July 30 – August 3, with exhibitions of works taking place from August 1 – 3 in Boston, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.
