European Wii Launch Line-Up Revealed

Nintendo has posted details of the official launch window line-up of Wii titles for Europe, including a number of titles not available for the North American launch, as well as revealing the region's full list of Virtual Console titles.

The list of titles is roughly the same as North America, the most significant omissions being Nintendo’s own Excite Truck, Atlus’ Trauma Center: Second Opinion and Konami’s Elebits – while mini-game collection Wii Play, bundled with an extra controller, is added to the list.

Other titles not scheduled for release in Europe at launch, compared to the North America, include Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (Atari), Metal Slug Anthology (SNK Playmore), Super Swing Golf (Tecmo) and Ice Age 2: The Meltdown. The European list also contains a number of budget priced titles from British publisher and developer System 3, although the article indicates that Wii games will be priced at between £34.99 to £39.99 ($67 to $76) in the UK.

The full list of titles, not including pack-in game Wii Sports, is as follows:

Nintendo: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Wii Play
Activision: Call of Duty 3, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam
Electronic Arts: Madden NFL 07, Need For Speed: Carbon
Midway: Happy Feet, Rampage: Total Destruction
Sega: Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
System 3: Gottlieb Pinball Classics, Super Fruit Fall, Impossible Mission, Leaderboard Golf, Tennis Masters
THQ: Cars, Barnyard, SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab
Ubisoft: Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WW II, Far Cry Vengeance, GT Pro Series, Monster 4x4 World Circuit, Open Season, Rayman Raving Rabbids, Red Steel, Splinter Cell: Double Agent

The list of virtual console titles is identical to North America, except for the addition of Donkey Kong Country on the SNES. The price of each category of game is also the same as in North America, with 500 points for NES game, 600 for a Turbografx title, 800 points for a SNES or Mega Drive (aka Genesis) game and 1000 points for a Nintendo 64 title. 2,000 Wii Points are price at €20/£14 ($26).
