According to a Microsoft statement, more than 2 million Burger King-related promotional Xbox 360/Xbox games have been sold in just four weeks since the November 19th launch of the North American promotion.
All three Blitz Game-developed dual-boot Xbox 360 and Xbox games in the collection Pocketbike Racer, Big Bumpin and Sneak King - were created specifically for sales at $3.99 with the purchase of a BK Value Meal at the U.S. fast food chain.
Gamasutra recently conducted an interview with Blitz Games' Philip Oliver in which he spoke in detal about the Burger King advergame deal, noting: "Well, I think Burger King obviously has been looking at the fact that they’re trying to connect with today’s youth, and that means gamers, fundamentally."
As part of the Microsoft release on the milestone, Russ Klein, president, global marketing, strategy, and innovation, Burger King Corporation, commented of the milestone: "We created the BK Xbox games as a unique form of all-family interactive entertainment, and we're thrilled with the response thus far. Most video games are considered a blockbuster when they reach the 1 million mark in sales, and this collection has achieved twice that."
