Sega of America has announced the next four games to hit the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console over the coming weeks, bringing back classics like Shining in the Darkness and cult platformer Kid Chameleon.

The first of the announced games is the 1992 acclaimed side scrolling beat 'em up title Streets of Rage 2, with its renowned soundtrack by Ancient musician Yuzo Koshiro. In the game, character Blaze, Skate and Axel and Max Thunder must team up to free the city from "Mr. X" and his Syndicate.

Next is ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron, the sequel to the original ToeJam & Earl already available on the Virtual Console. This time, rather than a randomly generated dungeon hack-type adventure, Panic pits the two characters against Earthlings in a side-scrolling action game across the Planet Funkotron, to both capture the Earthlings and retrieve Lamont the Funkapotamus' beloved objects to return to the 'funk-filled planet.'

Sega will also be releasing their 1991 fantasy RPG Shining in the Darkness, a first-person adventure in which the player must roam through labyrinthine dungeons battling enemies and solving puzzles to find the Arms of Light and save the Kingdom of Thornwood.

Finally, Sega has announced that its 1992 platformer Kid Chameleon will be coming soon to the Virtual Console. In the game, players are sucked into an in-game video game world with more than 100 levels, and can take on different forms such as a Berzerker, a Micromax, a Maniaxe, or a Skycutter by donning various helmets, each of which give the player specific powers to traverse the landscape.

No specific dates have been set for the games, but all are expected to retail for the Virtual Console standard Genesis price of 800-1000 points ($8-10).
