Steve Wozniak, David Jaffe and Nolan Bushnell are set to provide guest star voices for Code Monkeys, a new "8-bit style" gaming and pop culture parody cartoon debuting July 11th on the G4 channel.

G4 says the show, created by Adam de la Peña, writer on such shows as Minoriteam, Crank Yankers, and The Man is a "a rowdy celebration and biting parody of videogame, technology and pop culture."

The show, set in the early 80s, follows the employees of GameAvision, a developer whose company is "turned upside-down" when an oil tycoon with no game experience buys the company, all taking place in a world itself a video game with characters "forced to deal with some of the most infamous scenarios in gaming." Said creator de la Peña, "Every episode will include video game references, as well as guest stars from the past and future of gaming.”

Ahead of the show's debut, the first episode of Code Monkeys will be available online via Break.com on June 27th through July 11th. The network also plans to make available ringtones, wallpapers and playable versions of the fictional developer's games.

“Code Monkeys is the first animated comedy made specifically for today’s Xbox/iPod/YouTube generation and could only have come from a network that truly appreciates video games and technology,” said G4 president Neal Tiles. “Whether they’re a gamer or not, the video game and technology references in Code Monkeys are something every guy will enjoy.”
