E3: Sony Shows New PSN Titles Elefunk, Pixel Junk Racers

Various yet unannounced PlayStation Network downloadable titles have recently been revealed, including the Pontifex-esque Elefunk, a racing title in Q-Games's Pixel Junk series, the IGF award winning Everyday Shooter, and more.

With Sony's Phil Harrison promising during the company's E3 conference that some 80 titles were currently in development for the PlayStation 3's downloadable service, new details and images have emerged on a number of un- and just-announced titles.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has added new details of a downloadable title from UK based mobile developer 8bit Games called Elefunk.

Promising more than 20 levels in a variety of locations, the released screenshots suggest that the title is similar to Chronic Logic's 2003 IGF Audience Award winner Pontifex, where players build bridges from various joints and slats and test its resilience with, in this case, a pair of elephants.

As as recently discussed, another 2007 IGF multi-award winner, Jon Mak's Everyday Shooter has also been signed up for Sony's service ahead of an official PC release. Inspired by many freeware and Tetsuya Mizuguchi's Q Entertainment hits, Everyday Shooter attempts a synaesthetic shooting experience with softer guitar-laden effects over a geometric vector background.

And from Q Entertainment to Q-Games, the first direct images of a title in the latter studio's Pixel Junk series first announced in March have been released. Q-Games, best known for their Digidrive volume of Nintendo's boutique Game Boy Advance series Bit Generations, have shown images of Pixel Junk Racers, an overhead racing title. No further details on the game have yet been revealed.

Finally, Sony's European PlayStation Store has updated with a video showing a new downhill skiing title from Japan-based developer Yukes called Go! Sports Ski, called Feel Ski in European press releases. The name hints at a new sports-related downloadable series, as the service has seen with Go Puzzle and Go Sudoku, but more information hasn't yet been released.
