On the eve of the final day of E3, Gamecock held a 'funeral procession' for the much-changed event, which wound its way from the Santa Monica pier to Venice Beach, Calif. The procession was complete with drums, a horn section, a Chinese dragon, and masked performers on stilts.
Gamasutra was there to get the inside scoop from Gamecock grand champeen Mike Wilson, who showed up in a hospital gown after having been rushed to the ER the previous night.
So why are you in a hospital gown?
Mike Wilson: I was in the ER at St. John’s Medical Center. I think I got some E3 on me and I’ve gotten very sick for the last couple of days. I had to be rushed to the hospital in the night after shaking in my bed for hours for the second day in a row.
That’s terrible.
MW: It’s terrible, but it suits me. And I made it out here for the parade, so… I would’ve never thought not to wear pants if they hadn’t given me this hospital gown.
Do you really think E3 is over?
MW: Oh yeah. I mean – are you going? I feel bad for a lot of the indie guys who were out in Barker Hangar (5 miles away from the main strip of E3 hotels). 'I’ve been meaning to go over to Barker Hanger' is what everybody’s been saying, but nobody can go."
A full interview with Mike Wilson will run at a later date.
