Warner Bros., TT Games Detail Lego Batman

Following its acquisition of TT Games, Warner Bros. has announced that Lego Batman will arrive on next- and current-gen platforms as well as PC in 2008, also revealing the first details on the game itself.

The title was first announced in March of this year, with Warner Bros. still at the helm of publishing duties for the now-subsidiary TT Games developed title.

Like its similar Lego Starwars games, Warner and TT say Lego Batman will let players "explore a richly interactive LEGO Gotham City as Batman and Robin, capturing infamous villains– and even take control of the villains themselves."

The title will begin with said villains escaping from Arkham Asylum and "creating mayhem throughout Gotham City," with infamous enemies The Joker and The Penguin making appearances, and full use of Batman's gadgets as well as "fantastic vehicles" for both one and two player cooperative play.

Said Warner Bros. Interactive senior VP Samantha Ryan, "Batman spans several generations as one of the most popular DC Super Heroes, and Lego Batman will appeal to several generations of gamers who grew up idolizing the Dark Knight and playing with Lego toys. Working with TT Games, we are confident they will continue their Lego games’ success with this title, and we will expand our publishing endeavors with the introduction of the Lego Batman franchise.”
